At the core of all the projects is a symbiosis between keen detailing and programming of lines and spaces. Amit believes in reading between the lines to grasp the unspoken brief which the client might envision but may not be to articulate. The aim is to carefully understand the client’s requirements and establish a connect between the occupant and his space. It is a design realisation that stays true to its purpose and brings out the identity of the client and renders value-addition to a client’s lifestyle as its objective and achievement.
Ranking first in Mumbai University of Architecture and Diploma in Interior Design from Rachna Sansad, Amit consolidated his professional foundation by working with well-known architects and across typologies and scales. In 2001, he established Amit Shastri Architect & Interior Designer in Mumbai, engaged in and focused on de-constructing the complexities of a thought process and translating them into simple, elegant design solutions. With an intimate involvement with the client and the continuous endeavour for achieving excellence, the firm functions as a studio practice, with a compact team and tight-knit dynamics.
